I make simple, affordable, attractive websites that you can then maintain and update yourself. If you are an author, practitioner, consultant, or a small organization, chances are you don’t need to pay a web development firm a lot of money for a complex or fancy website. Of course, another option is to make a website yourself—there are plenty of services designed to let you do that. But as I have discovered, creating a website that looks really good and works well is not as easy as we might wish it were. Two questions you should ask yourself: do you really want to spend your time learning how to do it yourself, and are the services worth the recurring monthly cost? (Even the “free” website services are not actually free.)
I am not a web developer. I am a graphic designer with years of experience in print design, who has done the work of researching and learning what I consider to be the best low-cost way of making a beautiful, simple, yet flexible website—so you don’t have to. I design with WordPress, by far the most widely used website management system available. With my knowledge of WordPress and my training as a graphic designer, I can make a really nice, simple, clear yet beautiful website.
My websites are not fancy, but they are not just pretty either. I pride myself on creating sites that can make even complex information clear and accessible, using clean visuals and a logical structure and organization. This website, as well as the others pictured above, demonstrate the type of website I am best at.
Logos & website graphics
Every website is only as good as its graphics. If you already have a great logo and professional, high-resolution photographs and graphics, my job will be easy. If not, Manifest Identity can help with those, too, and for less than you might think. Read more about Logos and Graphics.
Many organizations know how useful email marketing is, but many individuals have not considered it. They also may not realize that there are free services for email marketing. I have worked with both MailChimp and Constant Contact, and I can set up newsletter sign-up forms on your website and help you with an email newsletter template, with a look to match your website. If you have a blog, I can help you set up an email that will automatically send out your latest blog post.
Manifest Identity can help you with any print marketing materials you might want. An attractive business card with your logo—one that aligns visually with your website—is a vitally important tool. You may or may not want a flyer, rack card, postcard, or brochure. I can help you decide which forms of print media, if any, might be useful to you and worth the investment. I can design any print media you decide on to visually reference your website and prepare the files for printing.
Help with email marketing and extra print media items are generally only offered as part of a full identity package, or as supplement to a website design.
How Manifest Identity’s Identity Design Works
Contact Lindy to set up a free, no-obligation phone consult, so we can both get more information and to decide what you or your organization need. I may ask you to send a sample of your materials for me to assess whether or not you are ready to begin the design process. I can then provide a ballpark estimate based on what I’ve seen.
If you are not yet ready to begin, I can tell you what you need to pull together in order for us to start. If you need help breaking that into manageable tasks, we can set up a series of phone or in-person consulting sessions at $65/hr on an agreed-upon schedule. Read more about Creative Coaching.
When you are ready, I will provide a more solid estimate for the package you have chosen, which we can discuss before proceeding.
